Pure & Gentle Inc. is forging a better path toward environmental sutainability by looking at every step of a product life cycle through a Life Cycle Analysis. Other important efforts toward environmental sustainability implemented by Pure & Gentle Inc. include:

• Eliminating NPE's (nonylphenol ethoxylates) from all household cleaners, dishdetergents and laudry soaps and replacing them with highly effective sustitutes that are on the cleangredients list compiled by the U.S. EPA as meeting stringent environmental criteria.
• Requiring vendors to validate their commitment to supplying raw materials that meet or exceed the cleangredients criteria.
• Becoming a Climate Leader through the U.S. EPA
• Commiting to be a carbon neutral facility and sustaining that carbon neutral status through the year 2012 and beyond by reducing energy requirements and utilizing renewable energy sources.
• Concentrating products to their fullest extent in order to reduce resource use associated with packaging and freight. This inturn reduces the carbon footprint of the product at the consumer level.
• Creating process designs that recycle all applicable waste streams such as cardboard, process water and packaging.
• Analyzing the environmental impact of a product in all aspects of its life cycle (raw material process, formulation, distribution, transportation, use and disposal).
• Rewarding environmental creativity in the workplace.
